St John's Church - The Furrows

In the early 1930's considerable housing development took place in South Walton with the attendant growth in population. In 1938 regular services were started in the Ambleside Avenue Infants School. In July 1945 it was decided to start fund raising for a new church and after tremendous efforts by parishioners, St. John's was built between August and December 1953.
